Commissioning
A collaborative Creative Journey
Working on a commission is a personal and meaningful process. Themes may range from bold and imaginative to deeply intimate, yet every commission carries its own significance. Each project becomes a shared journey between patron and artist, where I interpret a story and translate it into a refined and expressive artwork
Explore how we move from story to artwork together.
From Story to Artwork
The Process
STEP 1
Introduction and Definition of the Artwork
We begin with an in-depth conversation to understand the story, intention, and theme behind the commission. Practical decisions are also made at this stage: artwork type (painting, sculpture, installation, etc.), size, medium, location context and material options. This meeting sets the creative and technical framework.
STEP 2
Concept Development
Once the foundation is established, I develop research, sketches, compositions, and color / material studies. We refine the direction together and conclude with your approval of the final composition and artistic direction — the blueprint for the piece.
STEP 3
Artistic Execution
With the concept approved, I create the artwork: surface preparation/master layout, layered paint or material build-up, detail refinement. You receive periodic updates so you feel engaged and see the piece evolving.
STEP 4
Framing, Documentation, and Delivery
When the work is complete I finish the presentation: stretching or mounting, protective finishes, certificate of authenticity. Then the artwork is professionally packed and delivered or handed over, with care.
